As the sun rose, all of us rushed out of bed and excitedly walked to the bus to begin our latest Tiyul. Rabbi Jacobs began his informative facts about all the places we would be visiting on our next two-day overnight trip that brought us to the Carmel Coast and Western Galil Coast. On this trip we got to visit Eliyahu’s Cave. One of the really nice things about this Tiyul was that our sporty-side was on full display. For instance, we got to go biking along the Mediterranean Coast and also enjoy ice skating in Ma’alot.
We also visited Radar Hill and got wet walking and hiking through Mei Kedem and the Park Alunah Ancient Water Aqueduct. The Rosh HaNikra Grottos were absolutely stunning. The inside of the grottos were cool and the sea was a beautiful aquamarine color. The ancient city of Caesaria allowed us to see Rabbi Akiva’s Prison, the famous Herodian Port and a breathtaking Roman
Amphitheater. Best of al, we were on the Caesarian Coast for Sunset and got to daven there as well.
As the sun began to set, we headed towards the Caesaria Aqueducts. It was a breathtaking sight. Everyone walked on the beach, inhaling the fresh Mediterranean air. We had a girls- only Kumzits and sang until the sunlight vanished beneath the horizon!
As we boarded the bus back to Yerushalayim, everyone felt a sense of unity and tranquility. This was yet another successful and meaningful trip for all of us. Thank you to our amazing Tour Guide, Rabbi Jacobs, who not kept on making changes to our Tiyul so we could avoid the rain, but, as usual, gave us a great, fun and interesting Tiyul. We can’t wait until our next Sharfman’s Tiyul!
